Black History Month on Star 94.5 Orlando

Celebrate & Learn More About Black History Month

Sponsored by Cricket Wireless & Accident Attorney Abercrombie, P.A.

The roots of Black History Month can be traced back to black historian and journalist Carter G. Woodson helped found Negro History Week in 1926.

While we all know the memorable, historic events celebrated this month like the famous “I Have a Dream” speech by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. & the courageous stories of The Underground Railroad - these are only a few of the significant and important events to know and remember. What we’ll highlight are the numerous events and figures that are often overlooked during it.

On February 4th 2021, the nation can pause to remember how a simple act of a seamstress refusing to surrender her seat to a white passenger on a segregated bus launched nationwide efforts to end racial segregation of public facilities.
